Welcome to 2012!
Jan 17, 2012 0Welcome to 2012. Another year has just flown by which means DevZen is now about to finish its third year of trading. Many companies have been supplied with websites and other services. The websites include (note this is not an exhustive list):
Websites:
Festival and Redesign
Oct 4, 2011 0The Thatcham Flood Forum website redevelopment has now been completed and handed it back over to the committee, after training was completed. Work is on going with the new Business Training Solutions website redevelopment. This new site is moving away from Drupal and will use WordPress, simply as the news site does not require the power of Drupal, a steady flow of news and along with a forum for the learners.
Thatcham Flood Forum
Jul 26, 2011 0Work has continued with Thatcham Flood Forum website revamp. The forum has been dropped and the website itself given a refresh with a new look. For this particular site it was decided to switch from Drupal to WordPress, which so far is working well. Not only does it look different on deskyop browsers, but when using the iPhone or iPad also has a different and easier to use design. More to follow as progress is made.
Digital SLR and Tweets
Nov 8, 2010 0Several projects have had minor updates and interim sites go online over the last couple of weeks for us. These interim sites are simply to show that we ahve not forgotten, to help generate ideas and in some cases to see if anyone is interest in buying the daomain name (and website). We have used managingnews.com to put a temporary site in place for digital-slr.net. In addition we mentioned in a previous post that we had released an interim site for tweetthatcham.net. We have now done the same for tweetnewbury.net.
Tweet Thatcham
Nov 8, 2010 0We have put Tweet Thatcham (www.tweetthatcham.net) online today. It is simply a site to display tweets from and about Thatcham. This is the initial site and we will be updating and upgrading it as time permits. As it is an internal project it is worked on only when we ahve spare time. It will use only the Twitter system and nothing more, but we are looking at allowing you to tweet from the site. Have any suggestions, let us know.
NickPics and other projects
Jul 26, 2010 0We noted in the previous post about some of projects that we were/are working on. Some of these for clients and include nutsnbolt.co.uk and Headley Tyres. Some of these will go online shortly and they vary from budget and economy versions to ecommerce and more.
JimmyRiddle and other projects
Jul 7, 2010 0We noted in our previous post that we are working on nutsnbolt.co.uk for a client. Well the work is now well underway and we have also started to move on other fronts as well. We have confirmed that nywd.co.uk is going (selling).
Validation
Mar 18, 2010 0Validation is where code, (X)HTML and CSS, from a website is checked against the standards published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to ensure the code is correct. DevZen is often asked "why should I bother with validation?"
Advertising
May 10, 2009 0We often get asked "how can I make money from my website?" Assuming that this is ignoring any product or service you are offering, then the only way to bring money in from your website is to advertise. There are several ways of achieving this:
Choosing the right CMS
Mar 17, 2009 0So you want to set-up a new website and have chosen to use a content Management System (CMS). The question is "Which CMS do I use?" Good question and to be honest, one that is not easy to answer. Essentially it depends on what you want from the CMS, both short and long term.
